This is an OEM Apple 1TB SSD manufactured by Samsung. It's expensive as most Apple products are. Because of that, it's a drop in upgrade for compatible macbook pro retina / macbook air with smaller sized SSD. This is a 4 lane PCI Express device and it is easy to achieve 2GB/s reads. The write speed was 1.3GB/s tested using blackmagic software. The ssd uses MLC flash which results in sustained high speed sequential read / writes.
