The printer which was having this issue is Toshiba 6520C which is running the PCL6 driver. I didn't want to mess about with the driver. However we also have Toshiba2330C on site. The issue was only occuring when printing from internet explorer another page was being printed with an error 'PCL XL ERROR'. The problem was only on the Toshiba 6520C. Posted on Jul 14, 2015. For whatever reason the printer internal programming became corrupt showing that there is a paper jam. After checking the paper path and a quick can of air sprayed into the tracks, I proceeded to attempt a Cold Reset. 1) Remove the paper tray. 2) Remove toner cartridge.
3) Unplug USB. 3) While plugged in to power, turn off the printer, hold down the 'GO' button and power it back on. Continue to hold for more than 5 seconds but less than 15. 4) Reinstall the tray (be sure to check the paper level indicator is operating when you add paper to the tray. The lever should move up as it fills with paper) Reconnect the USB cable (make sure you are using a thick USB cable and not a cheap thin one, very important. Make sure the printer is not plugged into a backup batter either) Never plug a printer into backup power. I noticed that the computer did not recognize the device when connected which prompted me to contact HP support.

HP Support is shipping out Item # CE517AB - Font/DIMM Program for me to install in the printer to most likely reinstall the firmware. However, I will like to run WinXP on it as I find Vista a real pain in the neck.
Can't run many important prgrams on it etc. I just ran into the same problem.
The computers on the network that were running XP were showing the printer as 'Ready', but all of the computers running Vista were showing the printer as 'Offline'. After trying a number of solutions that I found on other message boards, I accidentally discovered that the problem was an IP address conflict. It seems that the server changed the address on the printer, which didn't bother the XP machines but brought the Vista machines to their knees. Press and hold the blue button (HP called it the 'Go' button) for 5 seconds, which will print a configuration report. In the TCP/IP section you will see the IP address for the printer. Next, open the Printers window, right-click on the P2015 and click Properties.
Click the Ports tab. Find the port that is checked and click the 'Configure Port.'

If the 'Printer Name or IP Address' field differs from the IP address on the configuration report, change it to the one on the report. It took a few seconds after hitting OK for the computer and prrinter to link up again, but that solved the problem for me. Posted on Dec 03, 2008.
