MAC Cosmetics and the French fashion designer have collaborated and created five new matte shades and one glossy companion. All of the colors were inspired by fabric swatches in the Giambattista Valli fashion vault. To emphasize the glamour and freshness of the lipsticks, MAC is doing something completely out of the box and using a metallic color packaging for each. The lipsticks are $17.50 each. MAC Cosmetics is celebrating The Simpsons 25th anniversary by creating a 10 item collection in honor of the famous cartoon mom. The collection is a playful line that gives some fun colorful ideas to add into your kit. The 10 items include: two 4 piece eyeshadow palettes, blush, lipglass and false lashes. The colors are in shades of pink, purple, black and of course blue like her famous beehive hair with names like: Itchy & Scratchy & Sexy, Nacho Cheese Explosion and That Trillion Dollar Look. The packaging alone is worth showcasing the items in your beauty bag.

While you may not want to have a complete Marge makeover, one suggestion would be to add one of the fun colors to your look for a pop of fun color. As well as using a Marge Simpson lipglass shade on top of your neutral lip pencil to create a new color. Those that attended Comic-Con in San Diego this past were the first to preview the makeup line before it hits the stores.

The lines outside the MAC store were wrapped around the block, proving that this iconic character may not be Marilyn Monroe, or Barbie, but she has a huge following all her own. The attendees also were able to get Marge makeovers and see the Marge models, come to life as their favorite animated character. I was so excited to meet the instructor Romero Jennings as he has been a MAC Pro for many years and he has mastered the art of beauty makeup along with editorial makeup you find in Hapers Bazaar, Vogue and other major publications. I knew that the class was going to be a great lesson in creating contour and highlights in a face not to mention some amazing glamour.

However, I learned more in those 2 hours than I expected, added to my bag of tricks and had a blast. The transformation was amazing and I thought that I would share some photos so that everyone can see the before and after. Has been full of limited edition collections this fall. However, they decided not to disappoint and continued to release a Holiday collection.

The Limited Edition Collection: Glamour Daze is focused on holiday colors from “The glamour of getting ready to step out for the holidays.” The collection features soft pinks, blues and silvers and has a very romantic feel with a splash of shimmer in all of the products. It reminds me of an ethereal winter scene upon look. The packaging of the items is fabulous, with satin boxes, bows and stunning accents that make it superbly girly and a great packaged gift for anyone. On the surface these colors look marbleized, however, on the skin they blend in for a stunning “celestial” effect.

As with any beginning to makeup application it starts with the skin, and the Heavenly Creature Collection has a Creature Skincare to start with. The trio features a Super Duo Charged Water Technology with a eye cream, moisture gel, and a water cleanser. The limited edition brings back an old favorite with the Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. The Mineralize Skinfinish has a high-frost metallic finish in four gorgeous shades: Light Year, Center of The Universe, Star Wonder and Earthshine. Add the Cremesheen Glass over the lipstick to amplify the color or use alone. The Glass is a non-sticky, creamy lipgloss that has a fantastic sheen. If I’m in Kyoto, it’s cherry blossoms. Sometimes in New York you can see the most beautiful tulips. Or in Paris there are roses that feel very Marie Antoinette,” We all may not be Rihanna, who wore Valli to the Grammy’s and can afford his Resort designs, but no worries owning a Valli lipstick could be enough for now.
